"Just when you thought music couldn’t surprise you anymore, this slice of wonder pops up and says boo. Astonishing." - The Underground Stage

"All The Stories is indeed trapped halfway between life and death, but it uses that as a frisson, producing a quiet energy, an engaging psychodrama that exposes the silent prisons that can still hold us all, to one degree or another. Marita and The Letter String Quartet, life and death, collaborate here through a bond of sublimated desire and they do it most effectively." - Chris Cobcroft

TLSQ & MRC present Heart Is Racing: Melbourne Recital Centre (with special guest Andrea Keller)
May 28th 2016
"In hindsight it seems like an obvious innovation but prior to seeing Heart is Racing, I’d never seen musicians who both played instruments and sung. It gave the performance a distinctly modern and relaxed feel, analogous with being invited into the host’s living room rather than escorted to your allocated seat in the salon. This isn’t always the case with chamber music or smaller ensembles and continued into the musical curation, which was well balanced and dynamic, favouring more short pieces and differing, complementary styles." - Raphael Solarsh

TLSQ @ Metropolis New Music Festival 2016: Melbourne Recital Centre

"Australia’s new music dream team The Letter String Quartet treated the audience milling around the MRC foyer to excerpts from Wally Gunn’s moody work Blood. Perched in a window opening out onto the city night, the foyer concert introduced a welcome buzz to the cultural bunker that is Southbank." - Matthew Lorenzon
Partial Durations
The Letter String Quartet + The Orbweavers: Richmond Theatrette

"If you get a chance to see The Letter String Quartet perform, I would certainly recommend you catch these accomplished musicians, as their work is sure to move you" - Lex Cran

Laura Jean + The Letter String Quartet: The Toff in Town
November 5th 2011
"The tones which the four players on stage were producing were quite out of this world....The Letter straddled crescendos of sound that didn't even need to be accentuated by lyrics or voice" - Phillipe Perez
